Warwick District Remembers.

On Friday 28th November, Village Voices took part in Warwick District Remembers, a remembrance concert at the Spa Centre, Leamington Spa.

We sang four songs, each representing a different country of the UK, including a beautiful arrangement by our guest conductor, Peter Irvine, of All Through the Night. The ladies also performed an enthusiastic Skyfall, from the film of the same name, the men a moving rendition of Bring Him Home and the whole choir, a rousing Do You Hear the People Sing both from Les Miserables.

Village Voices along with The Spa Strummers also led a singalong of the WW1 songs enjoyed by all. We also led in the singing of hymns including Nearer, My God, to Thee accompanied by Susan Meteyard on the violin.

Our thanks go to Peter Irvine for stepping in at short notice and supporting us with patience and good humour, and to Roger for all his support running up to the concert and, of course, and for his superb piano-playing on the night.
